If only it was 0 - 0

In May 2008, my football team (Manchester City FC) lost 8_1 to Middlesborough! Having supported City since I was a child, I have been through the darkest years when we dropped to the old Division two, even losing to some...less than inspiring teams.
Before any game, every fan is optimistic of a great outcome. Before the first pies of the game had been eaten, our team were losing . It was amazing to see how 20 minutes of football had changed the mood of everyone in the stadium. Optimism was replaced with defeatism and hope was turned into horror. I sat thinking, "if we could just wind the game back 20 minutes, everyone would still be full of optimism and hope." The sad fact is, that no-one has yet built a time machine and time had already passed.
It's sad when in life, people's optimism is replaced with defeatism and hope is turned into horror - their life has gone 8_1 down. Sometimes, I have wondered what would happen if we could turn back the game to 0-0. How would those people be living? What choices would they make? How would their vocabulary change?
Without meaning to sound too cliched, Jesus has the ability to bring the game, not only to a 0-0 standing, but actually tips the scales in your favour! THAT'S what the gospel is all about.
Now, we just gotta qualify for Europe! Come on City!!!!
